Spot It! Duel - Major Gameplay Improvements And Features In Latest Update of iOS and Android Hit

PARIS - October 25, 2017 – Asmodee Digital, a leader in digital board game entertainment, is today pleased to announce that its ultra-popular symbol matching game, Spot It! Duel – A Dobble game, has received a major gameplay update.

Available to play now on iOS and Android devices, Asmodee Digital today released a new update featuring, amongst other things, a more fluid approach to gameplay, a rework of the Dobble Profile, and new ‘Match Power’ and ‘Stars’ systems.

Key to the latest update of Spot It” Duel - A Dobble game is the focus on making arena matches more free-flowing and dynamic. This has been made possible in two ways. First, by replacing animations which were taking too much time to finish, the action now flows in a more seamless manner. Second, by adding new visual clues players will intuitively improve how they perform in each match. The overall outcome is a series of matches that feel snappier, play more seamlessly and add a deeper layer of satisfaction as you progress.

Each Dobble Profile has been reworked to now include a more simplified description pop-up in favour a short video/GIF highlighting its unique power.

The Match Power system is a special new value affiliated with each Dobble. Match Power is essentially the score achieved when you match a pair of two symbols (the smallest match that can be achieved). Crucially, as you level up your dobble this number evolves, which serves as a great comparison point to ascertain which of your Dabbles is strongest.

Finally, the new Stars System positioned above the Dobble’s pop-up image instantly highlights to players how rare and powerful a Dobble is. These stars will evolve as you level up your dobble and stands as a great way to compare your dobbles, too!

More content and updates are planned, so head to the App Store or Google Play now to download Spot It! Duel – A Dobble game; one of this summer’s most popular games.

On iTunes App Store:
itunes.apple.com

On Google Play:

Leave the cards at home and take the experience anywhere. Spot It” Duel - A Dobble game is the latest addition to Asmodee Digital’s ever-growing line-up of premium tabletop - video game translations.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Launches GAME OF THRONES®: CONQUEST on iOS and Android EG

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and HBO Global Licensing today announced the worldwide launch of Game of Thrones: Conquest™ on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android devices. Developed by Turbine and based on the award winning HBO® series, Game of Thrones: Conquest allows players to become a lord or lady in Westeros and define a strategy for conquering the Seven Kingdoms and claiming the Iron Throne.

Game of Thrones: Conquest is a mobile Massively Multiplayer Online strategy game that gives players the opportunity to navigate the dangerous political landscape of Westeros while establishing their house, creating their sigil and raising their army to march against rivals. Players can sabotage their enemies from within or march with their friends & bannermen into war, and can expect to see some familiar faces from the HBO series, including Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Petyr Baelish and more.

"The political maneuvering of Game of Thrones has always been one of the most compelling elements of the show, and now players can live out that fantasy as they compete with thousands of other people for control of the Iron Throne,” said Tom Casey, VP, Studio Head at Turbine. “Players have the opportunity to betray their allies and unleash their most cunning schemes to gain more power, which can lead to some very intense and fun moments.”

“Every Game of Thrones fan has an opinion on who should rightfully sit on the Iron Throne, and now with Game of Thrones: Conquest these fans will have an opportunity to try to claim the throne for themselves,” said Jeff Peters, VP, Global Licensing at HBO. “We think fans are going to love this new opportunity to test their battle and strategy skills while exploring the world of Westeros.”

Navigating Westeros won’t be simple, but with the help of the innovative Allegiance System, players can recruit allies from around the globe to have a fair shot at the Iron Throne and prove their loyalty to their lord or lady. In this dynamic and political world, players will have the option to choose between deception and loyalty. Or as they shift their Allegiances, in true Game of Thrones style, betray their own Allegiance to grow their influence in Westeros and claim the Iron Throne for themselves.

In Game of Thrones: Conquest, players can capture 120+ iconic Seats of Power from the series such as King’s Landing and Winterfell. To control these locations you must recruit allies, as no war is ever won alone. Players must raise their armies and clash against rivals to capture these iconic strongholds. Once captured, players will need to defend them, as each Seat of Power endows their Allegiance with military and economic upgrades. They will then appoint their own small council and reward their most loyal bannermen by making them wardens of a Seat of Power.

George A. Romero Tribute Mural Unveiled in Dying Light with Backing from the Horror Icon’s Son

October 19th, 2017 – Wroclaw, Poland / Techland is proud to unveil a special commemorative mural to the Father of Zombies, George A. Romero, in Dying Light. The tribute has received the full backing of the iconic director’s son, George Cameron Romero.

Techland has also released a short video in which a horde of the undead puts their flesh-cravings aside to salute the man who invented the zombie genre of cinema and inspired generations of future horror auteurs -- including Techland’s own Dying Light team.

Players can visit the graffiti-style mural in the area around Jaffar's Workshop and pay their respects, as the art was added to the game on Monday as part of the Content Drop #1 update.

George A. Romero’s son, George Cameron Romero, said of the tribute:

"When members of Techland reached out to me asking if I would be ok with them paying homage to my father in their game "Dying Light," I was honored as I'm a massive fan of the game and I love the graffiti work they do! What a beautiful way to give his fans a lasting tribute on a wall that won't get painted over. I hope everyone who is a fan of his, or mine, will have fun looking for the George A. Romero commemorative mural in the game and I hope everyone out there remembers that he was once called the most dangerous filmmaker alive, #filmsusedtobedangerous and thanks to him I will never forget that #filmisfearless."

Considered by many to be one of the most important independent filmmakers of all time, Romero’s back catalogue of gruesome and satirical horror films includes: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead.

REVIEW: The Norwood Suite - Out now on Steam (PC)

Synopsis:
From Cosmo D, the creator of the freeware hit "Off-Peak", comes The Norwood Suite - a weird-adventure game that is both its spiritual and direct sequel.

The Norwood Suite is a first-person adventure game that takes players to the secluded Hotel Norwood on a simple and friendly errand that quickly unfolds into something much more involved. Filled with bizarre characters and objects, this mysterious resort is a dense, open-ended world teeming with hidden passages and secrets to discover.

Peer into the lives of the hotel’s guests and staff, explore and interact with surprises behind every door, and piece together a non-linear narrative that rewards your curiosity. The Norwood Suite features surreal art design, as well as an original atmospheric musical score, composed by Cosmo D, that integrates itself directly into the game world.

Review: By Jon Donnis
If you read the little synopsis above you will see that the score in this game is composed by Cosmo D, and damn it really is good, because I am an idiot, I started playing this game on mute as I assumed it would be your typical background sounds etc, and only after a few hours did I put the sound on and suddenly I am hearing this great music. So yeah when you play this, turn your speakers on, and prepare to have your senses tickled with such cool music.

Ok away from the awesome music, this game is a puzzle/errands game, once you get to the hotel of which the game is based, everything becomes about solving puzzles, whether that is how to use the computer, by changing plugs, finding a wifi router, resetting it, or finding the right costume to wear to enter a room you need to go, making people sandwiches, to finding key for a piano. This is the main crux of the game. So if you like this type of game then you should enjoy The Norwood Suite.

I had a few issues with the game, I felt the controls a little clunky, however I am much more of a console guy, so using keys to move with one hand, and the mouse with the other, does not come naturally to me. Give me an Xbox controller and I am at home. So although I thought the controls were a bit clunky, if you are used to playing games using a mouse and keyboard then I suspect you will be right at home here.

I also found the graphics to be a little dated, again spoiled by 2017 high end games with huge budgets and so on. And this game would easily feel "new" if released 10 or even 15 years ago.

This game is not for me, for various reasons, but that does not mean it is a bad game, but you do have to take into account the type of gamer you are, the type of games you enjoy, and the type of experience you like to get from a game.

If you like keyboard/mouse controls, a game whereby you enjoy the music, you pay attention to all the conversations the characters you interact with have, you like to feel immersed into the storyline, then I am sure you will enjoy this game.

I give this game a decent 7/10.

The Norwood Suite will be released on PC through Steam and Itch.io on October 2.

REVIEW: Cuphead - Xbox One

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!
