The Curtains Rise on Old School RuneScape's Blood Sucker of a Raid

Thursday 7th June 2018, Cambridge, UK – The vampyres of Morytania are promising redemption for Old School RuneScape adventurers who bravely survive Theatre of Blood, a new raid for groups of up to five players that launches today.

Voted into the game by ~90% of over 40,000 polled players, Theatre of Blood sees raiding parties running the gauntlet of battle-thirsty warriors, nightmarish creatures, and facing taxing, life-threatening puzzles. The final act is a bitter fight for survival against Lady Verzik Vitur, one of the last true-born vampyres left in Gielinor, with the potential reward of valuable gold for successful adventurers.

The new PvE raid features a new wiping death mechanic for Old School RuneScape, where individuals who die watch from the sidelines while their surviving teammates continue fighting that room’s challenges.

Once the room has been overcome, they will revive and continue into the Theatre with the rest of the team. However, if the whole party dies, the raid is lost. While earned rewards can be collected outside the Theatre, the number of deaths met by the party during their run through the arena negatively affects the chance of obtaining a unique reward.

Balancing and testing of the content was undertaken by some of Old School RuneScape’s best raiders and dedicated content creators who flew in from around the globe to get exclusive access to the Theatre and the developers behind it. Some of the testers were; B0aty, MMORPGrs, Mr Mammal, Zulu, Classix, DedWilson, Woox, Reed, and Dalek Cookie.

Today’s release follows last month’s launch of A Taste of Hope, the fourth part of the Myreque quest series, which sees players reach the doors of the Theatre of Blood, home of the feared Lady Verzik.

Mathew Kemp, Senior Product Manager, Old School RuneScape said:
“As always, we’ve collaborated closely with the Old School RuneScape community throughout the development of Theatre of Blood to make sure it was a worthy follow up to the game’s first raid, The Chambers of Xeric.

“With such an emphatic vote backing the raid, we knew it was important to deliver a really engaging challenge for players looking to run the dangerous gauntlet of the Theatre. With the invaluable feedback of our community, pro-raiders, and content creators, we have delivered a blood-sucking raid worthy of the anticipation!”

GRIP feature list and latest 'Cross The Line' trailer

Watford, England - June 7, 2018 - Wired Productions Ltd., a leading independent video games publisher, and up-and-coming developer Caged Element Inc. invite out-of-this-world speed demons to experience GRIP – a ferociously fast, futuristic arcade combat racer – arriving on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one entertainment system from Microsoft, Nintendo Switch™ and Windows PC via Steam® in Autumn 2018. Members of the original team behind the classic arcade combat racer, Rollcage have come together with fans to celebrate the re-emergence of blindingly-fast arcade racers;  offering a true, wheel-gripping racing experience - where utter destruction serves one true purpose: be the first to cross the finish line.

“It’s a dream come true to once again find myself working on another great racing project,” said Robert Baker, principal programmer for GRIP and former lead programmer at Rollcage’s developer, Attention to Detail. “There are so many elements to GRIP that take me back, and I love the true racing experience that Rollcage, and now GRIP, both deliver. GRIP is truly poised to be the spiritual successor to the Rollcage games of the late 90s that so many people loved playing.”

Taking full advantage of the current generation of gaming hardware, GRIP accelerates ahead of the racing crowd by offering players speeds of over 767 mph - making it the fastest racing game on four wheels, across roads, ceilings and anything else players can land their tyres on to. The game will benefit from the enhanced power behind the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, delivering eye-pleasing visuals with spectacular in-game physics and harnessing the potential that comes from building with Unreal® Engine 4.

GRIP will see racers speeding their way around 19 breathtaking tracks across a variety of hostile and foreign worlds. Remaining focused on the task at hand, players must be merciless in their quest to cross the finish line; deploying an arsenal of 11 devastating weapons and power-ups to give them the advantage to take the lead against fierce competitors. From explosive darts, mines, and missiles to shields and turbos, these weapons will allow players to not only target other cars, but the environment surrounding them - blasting their way through structures or collapsing them unexpectedly onto unsuspecting opponents.

Racers can pick from a roster of 15 armoured cars - some swift and agile, while others are brutish and heavily armoured. Modifying further to suit their style, players can also customize each vehicle with an array of varied paint jobs, decals, wheels and other details. More information about the game’s cars, tracks, weapons and other modes - including Carkour and Arena - will be detailed by Wired Productions later this year.

GRIP is currently available in early access on Steam, with a full release planned for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year.

Hey Xbox Gamers, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a dark fantasy game that falls into the action-adventure genre, but there’s a lot more to it than that. You play as Senua – a Celtic warrior who is on a quest to rescue the soul of her dead lover from Helheim – a.k.a. the Underworld. Senua is plagued by what she believes to be a curse, but what she’s actually suffering from is a mental illness called Psychosis. Her Psychosis causes her to hear voices and see things that aren’t really there - but that doesn’t make the danger any less real. So to help you on your journey through the depths of Hell, Senua’s mind, and the voices and creatures of Darkness all while avoiding the looming threat of perma-death.
