Dead or Alive 6 Review

Dead or Alive 6 reviewed by Mike Epstein on PlayStation 4. Also available on Xbox One and PC.

Aspiring fighters will be able to experience the sixth DEAD OR ALIVE World Combat Championship in Early 2019; and every fight will be presented in amazing detail, allowing fans to discern intricate facial expressions unparalleled to those seen in previous entries.

The DEAD OR ALIVE Tournament Executive Committee and hosts of DEAD OR ALIVE 6, DOATEC, already released the names of the first set of fighters involved in this instalment - including the owner of DOATEC, Helena Douglas. Other notable fighters include the eighteenth master of the Mugen Tenshin clan, Hayate, and past DEAD OR ALIVE (DOA) tournament winners; Kasumi of the Mugen Tenshin clan, the ultimate ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, the ever-entertaining host, Zack, and the most recent tournament winner, the scorching soul Jann Lee!

Two new locations have been scouted to host key matches in the sixth tournament: the remarkable DOA Colosseum, complete with three bold statues showcasing famous fighting stances, and The Throwdown, a gritty back street where raw unfiltered fighting can take place in its prime.

Select locations, such as The Throwdown, allow the live audience to get even closer to the action than ever before - with some unruly fans breaking the rules and pushing fighters back into the centre of the ring. Combined with the fan-favourite 'Mass Destruction', where fighters can use the environment in their attacks, this tournament is set to be one of the most entertaining ever hosted by DOATEC.

Live the Dream with Legacy of Discord

We all need somewhere to call home. YOOZOO Games and GTarcade have recognised this need and now players of Legacy of Discord can start picking out furniture and maybe even find a few friends to share the housework.

Players can now invite and place certain NPCs into their sanctuary. They can also select from three available home styles and choose furniture. Through daily resource runs and a bit of interaction with friends they can train their pets within their sanctuaries to receive special combat boosts. Or simply visit friends in their homes to get additional resources — they can even gift items to help in-game chums furnish their dream home.

Like most homes, there’s the occasional ‘domestic’ to sort out. In Guardian’s Sanctuary this comes, typically enough, in the form of a hobgoblin fight. At 7:45pm each night some sanctuaries will be visited by a hobgoblin. Players can gain additional resources by defeating this unwanted visitor and  restoring peace and tranquility to their homes.

Legacy of Discord has also seen a wide range of improvements recently, with a numerous new items added to shops; as well as a new chapter unlocked in the main dungeon. There’s also some bug squashing and plenty more to keep players happy when they’re not sitting at home with their feet up.

RuneScape launches stunning conclusion to the Elite Dungeon Trilogy

Monday 25th February 2019, Cambridge, UK – RuneScape is calling on all seasoned adventurers to plunge into the underwater depths of The Shadow Reef, the third and concluding chapter of the game’s Elite Dungeons storyline, which launches today. Set in the ancient sunken temple of Ulthven Kreath, players face a hostile environment full of aggressive enemies before a chilling encounter with The Ambassador, a malevolent creature that dwells in the deep.

The Elite Dungeons are a series of three dungeons with an over-arching storyline, where players can buddy up or go solo in raid-like experiences, and are available to all RuneScape members.

As with the previous two Elite Dungeons, The Shadow Reef includes a story mode option, enabling players to focus on the unravelling narrative, with enemies having reduced health and combat strength, although reward drops only come from boss encounters.

Dave Osborne, RuneScape Lead Designer, said:

“Last summer, we created Elite Dungeons to combine engaging storylines with raid-like dungeon experiences. The Shadow Reef brings that questline to an epic conclusion, as players uncover the secrets beneath the inky waters of Gielinor, and experience an unforgettable encounter with The Ambassador, which will push players to the limit, whether adventuring as a team or solo.

“We know that The Shadow Realm appeals to a wide variety of RuneScape players, whether that’s the ‘skillers’ who are looking to level up  their combat skills, the ‘questers’ who love delving into adventures, or the ‘challengers’ – players that are seeking to overcome the dangerously deadly dungeon, to secure the best rewards possible in the fastest time possible.”

The first parts of the trilogy, The Temple of Aminishi and Dragonkin Laboratory, were both released during summer 2018, and had to be completed chronologically by players. However, with today’s launch of The Shadow Reef, the three Elite Dungeons can be completed in any order, removing a barrier for high-level players looking to test their combat skills and meet with The Ambassador.
