Crytek Announces Release Date for Crysis Remastered

Hot on the heels of its Nintendo Switch release, Crytek announced today that Crysis Remastered is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 18th. The game will be available as a digital release via the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store for GBP 26.99 / USD 29.99 / EUR 29.99.

Co-developed with Saber Interactive, the classic first person shooter will focus on the original game’s single-player campaigns and is slated to contain high-quality textures up to 8K, HDR support, temporal anti-aliasing, Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, Screen Space Reflections and Shadows (SSR & SSS) as well as new and updated particle effects and more. Further additions such as ray tracing enhance the game with a major visual upgrade.

For the first time a Crytek game will feature ray tracing on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro powered by CRYENGINE’s proprietary software based ray tracing solution. The PC version will additionally support hardware-based ray tracing on Nvidia RTX GPUs.

In Crysis, what begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battleground of a new war as alien invaders swarm over a North Korean island chain. Armed with a powerful Nanosuit, players can become invisible to stalk enemy patrols, or boost strength to lay waste to vehicles. The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armour, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.

Martha Is Dead - The Lake - Xbox Series X - PC - 4K Trailer

It’s 1944, and the body of a woman has been found, drowned and desecrated, by the side of a lake in the depths of an Italian countryside. Martha is dead, and now her twin sister must deal with the fallout from her murder, all whilst the horror of war draws ever closer…

Video games publisher, Wired Productions, today dug a little deeper into the mystery around upcoming thriller, Martha is Dead, showcasing new footage captured in-game, alongside revealing its next gen homes and shedding more light around plot details.

Developed by LKA, the studio behind the celebrated psychological adventure The Town of Light, Martha is Dead is in development for Xbox Series X and PC. Building upon LKA’s signature style of deep multi-layered narratives, Martha is Dead combines real world locations, working in links to historical events, superstition, folklore, and deep psychological distress.

Keep up-to-date by wishlisting on Steam now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/515960/Martha_is_Dead/

Martha is Dead is built in Unreal® Engine 4 to deliver an incredible visual experience that blurs the boundaries between gaming and reality. Viewed in first-person, players will witness this dark period of history through the eyes of a young woman who seeks the truth, but who also has secrets of her own to hide.

“After two years of development, we’re happy to start unveiling more information about Martha is Dead,” says Leo Zullo, Managing Director, Wired Productions. “The range of Wired releases continues to grow, and our aim is to always publish incredible games with undeniable quality that deserve to be played. It’s a journey that started with our signing of The Town of Light in 2016, so to continue to support LKA and the studio’s storytelling is something I’m very happy Wired has been able to do.”

“At LKA, we start with a story. Often it’s uncomfortable, not painless and based in truth. We learned a lot with The Town of Light, and Martha is Dead is taking everything we know, and turning it up to 10,” adds Luca Dalco, Founder & Director, LKA.

He continued,
“Martha is Dead is set in a really interesting and distressing period of history, with Italy at this time torn between two major powers fighting for the future. Martha’s brutal murder brings with it a mirrored sense of misery. This game will shock, make players question the truth and like The Town of Light, help continue a conversation around subject matters that still carry much stigma.”

Martha is Dead will launch later in 2021 on Xbox Series X and PC.

REVIEW: - Peaky Blinders: Mastermind on Xbox One

Review by Jon Donnis
I was kindly sent a review copy of Peaky Blinders: Mastermind on Xbox one by Curve Digital and Renaissance PR.

As someone from Birmingham, I have been looking forward to the Peaky Blinders game for a while. Based on the popular TV show of the same name.

You could best describe Peaky Blinders Mastermind as a "puzzle-adventure game", and it is set in a timeline of just before the start of the first season.

You play as members of the Shelby family, and each level you have to solve various puzzles, sounds pretty easy right, here is where it gets more complicated, you need to control different people at the same time, to do different tasks, you do this by rewinding time, so you might control one character for a minute or two, perform various tasks, but then you swap to another character, rewind time, so that while your actions with the first character play out, you might be doing something else with another character, which eventually helps you succeed in the level, I know it sounds a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it all makes sense.

Sometimes you may need one character to distract a guard while you walk past, or to open a passage, get you a key, and as you progress through the levels, things get harder, as you need to complete various tasks with different characters all within the same timeline. You get a score based upon the speed of completing the level. Now the first time you attempt a level you may take a while to figure things out, but the great thing here is, once completed, you can try the level again, and now you know what to do, you can try to get as fast a time as possible. Repeating the level a few times, might seem tedious, but it is actually an interesting and challenging part of the game.

The graphics are great, and there is an original soundtrack for the game which I enjoyed a lot too.

The Good
Great graphics and soundtrack, a challenging game, with plenty of replay potential.

The Bad
At first I found the controls a bit tricky, and when you have only a short amount of time to rewind to achieve something, it can be a bit frustrating at first, of course with practice comes perfection.

Summary
A thoroughly enjoyable game, you do not need to be a fan of the TV show to enjoy this, it is a fun, challenging puzzle adventure game, and I give it a strong 8/10
