New Zealand-based indie dev’s multiplayer, open world PvPvE shooter hits the store this weekend accompanied by a brand new trailer
Invercargill, New Zealand, 31 May 2019: Spotted Kiwi today announced that following a successful five-month Open Alpha with over 10,000 active participants, its debut title is out now on Steam Early Access, priced at £15.49 (GBP), €16.79 (EUR) and $19.99 (USD).
When a prototype combat robot becomes self-aware, only a group of competing mercenaries can end a war that humanity cannot afford to lose…
XERA: Survival is an action-focused looter-shooter, designed from the ground up as a multiplayer, open world PvPvE experience with a persistent global gear stash that players can access from within the game and from any server.
It’s 2022. The world is in chaos after a prototype combat robot – banned by law and awaiting secure destruction by XERA Corporation – became self-aware, escaped and replicated on an industrial scale. Nation turned on nation in a fight for control over resources. With the attention of the world’s military on self-defence, mercenaries and disillusioned combatants have descended on a remote forest region to ransack the remains of XERA’s facilities, setting up two forward operating bases on each side of the forest. Between these bases there are no rules of engagement, as for some, nothing less than the future of the human race is at stake; for others, there is a potentially boundless paycheck. For all, the only imperative is survival.
Players venture out in search of glory, revenge, salvation or political leverage – and loot. Scavenge for weapons, ammo, food and water, medical supplies; craft the tools you need to survive a harsh and unforgiving forest environment. Deploy drones to scout, transport – or close the business a bullet left unfinished. And when you’re ready to store your loot – just make it back alive to either base.
XERA: Survival lets players choose their own pace of play from session to session. Use the night / day cycle or dynamic weather systems to your advantage – sneak about avoiding PvP combat and build your resources, focusing on PvE takedowns to scavenge the best loot. In the base you can trade safely with other players, or save to your server-side stash, which is persistent across servers globally. Alternatively, you can choose to tool up and raid as a lone wolf or teamed with up to three buddies. Take part in giant PvPvE compound events or missions you pick up from NPCs back in the base. And all the while, lose just the equipment you brought with you in the event you meet an untimely death – getting straight back into the fight, dropping where you want in the 4x4km world using regular helicopter insertions from the bases.
XERA: Survival is developed by Spotted Kiwi Interactive, an independent development company based in the deep south of New Zealand (Aotearoa) with a community-focused development ethos. Following an extensive Open Alpha period, the game is ready for Early Access and will continue to be enhanced and improved based both on existing development plans and suggestions and feedback from the community.
Unruly Heroes is AVAILABLE NOW on PS4 (including the Challenge Update)!
In solo or co-op, take control of four unlikely heroes that battle a diverse lineup of enemies and show off your Kung-Fu skills in this action-packed adventure.
Unruly Heroes is a platform video game developed by French company Magic Design Studios for the Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It is inspired by the Chinese novel Journey to the West.
Unruly Heroes features four characters (Sanzang, Wukong, Kihong and Sandmonk), that can be switched anytime. Each of them have their own unique skills and traits, like double-jump, gliding, or powers activated by special statues.
There are character-specific statues that can be used by pushing them into the right place.
While the game is based on Journey to the West, it differs a lot compared to it, making an adventure that is more humorous and lighthearted.
All levels are done in a Donkey Kong Country-esque way, in which the path forward is always clear, with branching paths along the way that usually lead to extra rewards.
Outside of a single-player adventure, the game can be played with up to four players. In the Underworld, the players will control child versions of the characters. There is also a Player versus Player mode, where battles can be done locally or online.
Experience Bloober Team’s New Masterpiece, Layers of Fear 2, with voice acting led by iconic horror actor Tony Todd.
Layers of Fear 2 is a first-person, psychological thriller, horror video game with an emphasis on exploration and story. Players control a Hollywood actor who heeds the call of an enigmatic director to take on the lead role in a film shot aboard an ocean liner.
Darkness surrounds as you stand silently in the spotlight, the only sounds to be heard over your heartbeat are the distant breaking of waves against the hull and the sound of cameras pointed in your direction preserving this moment for eternity.
A deep and commanding voice rises from the distance. Act.
What part will you play?
Available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.

YOOZOO Games, Shanghai — May 2019 | Sometimes known as ‘soldiers of fortune’ mercenaries are an arbitrary factor in any conflict. Often primarily concerned with lining their pockets — frequently at the expense of ethics — they’ll fight for whoever pays them. Which is your good fortune, as it means combat in Legacy of Discord has levelled up considerably with their inclusion.
You need never go into combat alone again: up to three mercenaries will fight with you in battle; with one fighting at a time. Once dead, mercenaries can be revived when switching maps or when the player is revived after dying. They are also very powerful when brought into the Celestial Tournament (when players use the all-new Mercenary function).
Their inclusion across the game, essentially, offers more gameplay possibilities: Pets, Wrathwings, Mounts, and Metamorphs can all be socketed to a mercenary, boosting your battle rating and granting even more bonuses to player attributes; and the better the item socketed, the bigger the bonus!
The above mentioned Celestial Tournament is an all-new battle mode — where Guild members can build a team of 5 to 10 people for matches. The first team to capture two flags for 30 seconds wins. (Hot tip: The Celestial Tournament is a great place for guild members to play together and get more honour; also, guilds with more members gain a greater advantage.)
Legacy of Discord has also featured on Google Play’s global recommended list this week. Be the first to check out the latest updates now — together to Battle!

I have been playing GRIP for a while now, and the one thing I like most about this game is the fact the creators keep churning out free updates. Whether it is new tracks, weapons, or new vehicles, they have shown a great dedication to keeping the game fresh and interesting.
Well the latest update for GRIP is a whole new vehicle class of anti-gravity racers. Clearly here they are looking at the classic WIPEOUT game on Playstation and wanting to emulate the success of that with similar vehicles.
So you have the classic Rollcage inspired "Rollers" which are the standard vehicles you use, that can drive upside down, and now the new WipeOut inspired"Airblade" vehicles, which are pretty much hovercraft racers. Much like the Rollers, the Airblades can also flip upside down and ride on any surface. But the AirBlade does have one big advantage, when you come to wet surfaces, instead of being slowed down like the Rollers, the Airblades just keep on going, gliding majestically.
Also with this update are brand new levels set in a space backdrop.
The AirBlades are a welcome addition to the game, they do look amazing, but my main gripe here is that they pretty much handle exactly the same as the Rollers, and unfortunately some of the bugs of the game have still not been ironed out, these tend to be the way the camera moves and flips around too much when you flip to a different surface, as well as it not always being very clear which way you are supposed to be going.
If there was one thing that would improve this game massively, it would be more fixed camera angles, as well as it being much clearer the direction of the track. Although the open areas look nice, as soon as you go off track, you are regenerated back onto the track, so it is not like you can go and explore. There is also the issues of collision detection. You can be leading the race, and just as you are about the pass the finish line, you hit one of the posts, and suddenly you are at an instant stop, as the rest of the competitors pass you, and you end up in last, and because it is an instant stop, you have to slowly reverse, turn the vehicle, and then slowly crawl across the finish line. It is incredibly frustrating, and since it doesn't at all feel like you made a mistake, there is little feeling of wanting to try again.
So although the addition of new vehicles, tracks and so on is great. I wish the game creators would fix some of the camera view bugs, and collision detection, which does spoil the racing levels.
I will say however that the arenas are still awesome and one on one death matches are what you will end up playing the most.
